The Stewards fined the following trainer in respect of their non-runner:-

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Massini's Brook, trained by Noel Lawlor, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

The Stewards requested a report from Mrs John Harrington, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Gimli's Rock, winner, as compared with its recent form. The trainer reported that this horse was hampered on a couple of occasions last time at Fairyhouse. He is a horse that likes things very much his own way, is suited by small fields and things seemed to fall right for him today. Having considered the evidence the Stewards accepted the explanation offered.

Mr J.C. Barry, rider of Millen Dollar Man, trained by Declan Ryan, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that the bit slipped through the mouth of his horse in this race.
